Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

HARRY POTTER #7 - PART 1

Once again, Harry Potter has done it again. Before I even give my two cents on the movie, let me first start by saying how hard it was for me to get tickets to SEE the film. I first tried to see this cinematic wonder on Saturday night, only to learn that EVERY SINGLE THEATER in Los Angeles had sold out for the entire night. The next morning, I was convinced I'd be able to find tickets to an early morning showing. Nope. Wrong again. To my surprise, all day Sunday (from 8:00 AM until 1:00 the next morning) was completely sold out at every theater in town. This movie is doing VERY well. I think it is one of the few that reaches out into every target audience imaginable.

That being said, this Harry Potter movie was just a bunch of fun. It wasn't my favorite out of the series thus far (#5 is going to be hard to beat in my eyes), but it lived up to the very high standards this series has already set. Watching the stunning visual effects and choreography is always a treat. It is truly a breath of fresh air to see something so incredible come to life on the silver screen.

It's hard to list negatives about a movie that is so well done. The score was solid. The acting was incredible, as always. The directing was top notch. There's very little that the new Harry Potter film fails to achieve. Perhaps the biggest kudos go out for making 2.5 hours FLY by like it was 10 minutes. I was glued to the screen the entire time.

This movie ends with the perfect cliffhanger that is bound to keep every fan of the series (which, is apparently everyone in Los Angeles and them some) on their feet eagerly waiting for more.
